Husni names 30 notable launches for 1998

First things first. In these ratings, "notable" doesn't necessarily mean the best. My staff and I considered several things when choosing these magazines, including innovation and impact. We also asked several questions about each title:
  1. How much publicity did the magazine generate?
  2. Was the magazine notably diverse or specialized?
  3. How timely was the magazine?
  4. Was the magazine innovative?
  5. Was it so bizarre or outlandish that we couldn't leave it out?
So, with all of this in mind, here's what I've selected as thirty "notable" launches of 1998. Believe me when I say we've got the good, the bad and the ugly.
