This is the magazine for the man who has everything, including, the editors hope, a lot of money. But Travel & Leisure Golf isn't just about golf.
The magazine is "written for today's generation of affluent golfers who share, beyond a love of the sport, a curiosity about the world and the passion to experience its luxuries."
Travel & Leisure Golf features real estate, driving, fashion, personalities, golf heritage, literature, wine and spirits, cars, gadgets, and, of course, golf.
Some of Travel & Leisure Golf's departments include: "The Right Stuff" (equipment), "Dressed for the Nines" (fashion), "19th Hole" (drinks), "Driving Range" (cars), and "Fiction."
The magazine also features writers like Roy Blount, Jr., who in one issue, shares his attempts to learn the game in an article titled, "I Was a Golf School Delinquent."
The March/April 1998 issue debuted on February 24, with a circulation of 200,000. Travel & Leisure Golf claims a 61 percent male readership that has a median household income of $161,134 and a median net worth of $1,198,227. The magazine also says that its readers play 38 median rounds of golf and 65 percent are members of a golf/country club.
Beginning this year, Travel & Leisure Golf's frequency will be increased to bimonthly after being published four times in 1998.
Travel & Leisure Golf debuted with one of the most-distinctive looking designs of the year and expects to capture one of the most-distinctive audiences in the industry.
