Homes of Color
There are many living, home design magazines on newsstand shelves today. But as anyone flipping through the pages of Architectural Digest, Southern Accents or House Beautiful can see, there are rarely African Americans featured on the magazines pages. Responding to this, Corriece Perkins Gwynn created Homes of Color, a thin, bimonthly publication reaching affluent African Americans. The magazine is an advertising supplement delivered with The Washington Post, and its first issue reached 30,000 people.
