Recognizing the societal need to bring new life into the world, the publishers of Conceive magazine have given birth to a new genre in the magazine industry. Conceive answers to an audience of couples who want to start a family, as well as those who have long tried to start a family. Couples are taking, on average, four years to get pregnant. It's not as simple as once believed, but Conceive attempts to help readers understand and cope with an extremely personal, sometimes emotional, process. America's first fertility magazine was born as a labor of love of two people who experienced the agonies and delights of starting a family themselves. It's a breakthrough concept that begs the question: why didn't anyone else think of this before? The answer is still unknown to me, but for Kim Hahn and Rob Clarkson, the answer was simple: quit work and conceive this magazine about one of the most important stages of life itself, and the rest will follow.
