Whatcha Mean, What's A Zine?
Price: $12.99

I started in this business as a small child in Lebanon making homemade magazines. For that reason, I don’t think a person can be too young to start loving or making magazines. And the people at Graphia Books and the Houghton Mifflin Company seem to agree.

This new book takes individuals step-by-step through every possible facet of the home publishing process. Whatcha Mean, What’s A Zine? encourages children and young teens to create their own zines (small, handmade magazines) by giving content ideas, art ideas, information on how to paginate and bind the publications and even what kind of stapler to use for each type of binding. By far this is one of the most exhaustive books I have seen concerning home publishing for kids and teens.

So if your child or the child of someone you know has an interest in publishing, then get them started early and on the right track by picking up this book and opening their hearts and imaginations to the world of magazines.
