Its hip to be old. At least thats what the editors of AARP the Magazine would like you to think, and the revamp of the previously titled My Generation and Modern Maturity does a good job of convincing me. The king of cinema, Steven Spielberg, graces the cover, proving that salt and pepper hair is cool, and with the right spectacles, failing eyesight can actually look good. Articles include "Conquer Fat," a guide for people in their 50s to lose weight, "No-Stress Family Travel," as many members of the AARP have young children and teenagers and, lets not forget, a section on "Sex & Love," proving that these topics are important to people other than passionate twenty-somethings. A list of "The Fearless 50," some of Americas greatest innovators, is the biggest proof you need that 50 and up is a good age to be. With names like Bob Dylan, Robert Redford, Jimmy Carter and Toni Morrison compiling this list, how can 50 not be cool? I wonder if I am saying that because I just turned 50.
