Politics are getting too separated between far right and far left; society is becoming a battle between mainstream- and counter-cultures; and other various outlets of thought and information are changing from debatable to "Im right, youre wrong." So The Thresher was started as a journal meant to mediate all the extremes into a "multi-leveled discourse" for people who want to express mediated opinions. From the cover, it looks like a journal for Ralph Naders Green Party, but the journal is a little more accepting of dissenting views than most radical liberals or right-wing conservatives. Although its first issue leans a little left, the publisher promises that its initial issue will not set a standard for all those to follow. | |||
