Heeb is the product of a bunch a self-deprecating young Jewish kids from the East Village who aren't afraid to insult the rabbis. The title has wrinkled the foreheads of the Anti-Defamation League and others in the Jewish community but the publishers marched forward and launched the magazine without a hitch. Billed as the "New Jew Review," Heeb' is fresh with alternative design and off-the wall editorial content ranging from post Holocaust fiction, photo spreads of Jewfros, and complete with a pull-out pin-up poster of none other than Neil Diamond. Jennifer Blyer and 15 of her friends work on the magazine for free out of their homes. Published quarterly as a non-profit publication Heeb has an initial circulation of around 16,000 and sells for $4.50 an issue. | |||
