What's Hot What's New

The good, the bad and the ugly. You'll find them all here. Each week you'll get my take on the intriguing, and sometimes peculiar, titles to recently hit the newsstand.

Beautiful Southern Homes
Cover Price: $7.99
www.bhg.com

It seems that the words "southern homes" just naturally pair with "beautiful." To showcase this fact, Better Homes and Gardens has released a new home magazine that is gorgeous and full of "pure charm." Just as borders have fallen between countries, it seems they have also fallen between states and regions. Beautiful Southern Homes is imported from the Midwest and does not disappoint. Its subject matter used to be strictly the domain of Southern Living, but more and more publishers are discovering the charms of the South. Just as the homes featured in its pages aren't cheap, neither is the cover price of; however, you'll find this title is well-worth its $7.99 value.

Celebrity Skin Gets
Body Slammed

Cover Price: $7.99

Welcome to everything you didn't see on your TV. This Pay-Per-View in print is not for the faint of heart or the under-18 crowd. From the publishers of Celebrity Skin comes the special "wrestling vixens special" that we apparently all asked for. This title takes the cake for being the most tasteless presentation of wrestling and wrestling beauty. The shoddy layout and bad photography should have earned this publication the title of Celebrity Skin Gets Magazine Slammed. So take your $7.99 and enjoy looking at a magazine full of beautiful homes rather than Body Slammed.

Relish
Cover Price: Free
relishmag.com

In today's world, looks are not enough. With Relish you have to dig in, prepare, bake and eat. This new release from American Profile is a monthly insert in many community newspapers across the country. Relish is American Profile's first brand extension and celebrates the country's love of food. Relish comes inserted in your local newspaper at the first of every month and feels like it belongs there, thus adding to the "homey" feeling of its content, which I believe makes people trust and believe in it even more. Circulation-wise, this is by far the largest launch of the year.
